BISHOP MACDONALD & MIRIAM NDAMBUKI
Pastor Macdonald Ndambuki (Kingoo) is the pastor of LOVE IN THE WORD CHURCH in Shilanga, Mailisaba, Mwengenye, and Obama, Kenya. He is married to his lovely bride, Miriam, and they both serve in the ministry which God has entrusted them. They have three sons who are still progressing in school and they praise God for that! They are strong advocates for family serving together in church and they believe that their very existence is to develop a responsible society by teaching the WORD of God to those families that God has placed in their midst. These are not only the families that attend their church, but are all families that they can touch in their own community. They teach a practical faith – one that models godly behavior such as picking up the trash in the community. They teach and support their neighboring families in whatever way they can, especially paying attention to teaching the children and the parents how to be responsible citizens of a community centered on God, faith, spiritual, and economic development. These practical lessons and examples are resources to create useful and successful change agents in their society. In order to help moderate this exchange of information, The Ndambukis have begun a school in the church where they give the less fortunate children in the community a chance to get an education. They firmly believe that when we empower a child through education, we have empowered a whole generation and that's what the Ndambukis stand for.
HIGHLIGHTED COUNTRY PROJECTS
THE CITY OF REFUGE | Project Cost : KES 78,190,700 ($781,907) |
The poverty rate in Kenya is currently forty-five percent and most affected groups are children, youth, women, and the elderly. The country is experiencing an escalated mortality rate that emanate from poverty-related causes like suicides, abortions, famine, diseases, and ethnic clashes that have worsened the volatile situation. We, therefore, aim to build a city of refuge where people would run for help and get rest from life battering. The five-acre city of refuge will comprise of the following facilities:
The facility will create job opportunities for 100 workers and serve more than 5000 people each month. We will employ field officers who will monitor all the projects assisted by the software system that has all the database of the beneficiary groups to ensure quality measures are kept. This will also help us measure our success and improve on grey areas. We strive to be accountable and trustworthy. |
POULTRY FARMING SUMMARY | KES 3,613,000 ($36,130) |
Poultry farming was born out of consultative meetings with Pastors and community leaders. Many pastors in Kenya depend on churches for food and daily upkeep. But the meager monthly church income does not meet their needs. Pastors, then, find themselves on the receiving end resulting in some committing suicide due to depression and others serving jail terms as a result of unpaid bills and other related charges. This appalling condition made us look for a money-generating project that does not interfere with ministry and is manageable. Agribusiness is the backbone of the country's economy and egg demand exceeds supply. The ministry seeks to buy 2000 birds and two incubators each hatching 1300 chicks. Our projection is to be able to empower 3900 households in the next five years. We will achieve this through training beneficiary groups marketing skills, harvesting knowledge about poultry keeping for commercial purposes. After completing the course, we will put them in groups of 10 persons each group will be given 1000 chicks and regularly monitor the progress of each independent group. This project intends to alleviate the standard of living for Pastors, promote synergized churches, create job opportunities and enhance community cohesion. |
