Love in the Word Church

Focus: 2 Sam 14, 15

Absalom was fighting a good fight when he was trying to make right what had happened to his sister Tamar. Human wisdom says that it is good to take up a good fight to protect someone who was wronged. Often a good fight seems right and if God has made you part warrior, it is easy to be drawn into the good fight, but The WORD says, "Vengeance is mine, I will repay says the Lord". Satan can pull you over from the front and well as push you over from behind to tempt us to sin. The good fight is ONLY good if it is directed of the Lord. Absalom, though noble, lacked character and honor. Joab and Absalom used deception and trickery to try to reconcile Absalom to David. Then Absalom used a similar trickery to lure those loyal to David away from David to stage a coup! Although one might understand why Absalom tries to fight the good fight for his disgraced sister Tamar, he dishonors himself after the fact by taking matters into his own hands. Satan is deceptive! Seek Jesus and follow Him only!
